I said too much, the neighborhood is in uproar

Recently, my period has been really heavy, lasting almost 10 days, and it seems to start again before it fully ends. I thought about telling my mom, but now I'm really regretting it. She immediately called the daughter of our neighbor who's a nurse because I’m afraid to go to the hospital, and she said she would take me. I'm so embarrassed; I wasn't ready to open up like this. Do you think it's necessary to see a doctor right away, or could I wait a little longer? Also, I've really gotten uncomfortable talking to my mom about stuff like this; what would you do?

I think you should go see a doctor directly. Because I've experienced a similar situation; I had signs of anemia. Ten days is really a long time, so I recommend not postponing it.

Does it always happen like this, or did it start in the last few months? Also, has the frequency of your pad/diaper changes increased a lot? It could be something serious based on that.

@sorularinsini It started in the last 4-5 months. It was actually regular before. The daily change has increased quite a bit, and it's almost leaking at night too.

I don't understand, why did you tell your mom if you're going to take her anyway? I think it's essential to go to the hospital, there's nothing to be ashamed of.

It's not something the nurse in the neighborhood can handle; it's a situation that should be left entirely to the doctor. Excessive menstruation can sometimes indicate a hormonal issue or a problem with the uterus. You should see a gynecologist.

My mom used to exaggerate stuff like that too. I swear I delayed going to the doctor because I was embarrassed, but then I realized I made it worse for myself. I think you should forget about your mom and just go by yourself.

@bunuaciklayalimmi Do you think these things are that easy? Talking to her mother is a process, not everyone is comfortable with it. I think you shouldn’t pressure her.

If menstruation doesn't stop and starts again, it could be a hormonal imbalance, polyp, or a different issue. Especially in cases lasting more than 10 days, it’s important to see a doctor. It's not something to be scared of; early diagnosis is important.

It's easy to say "forget your mother," but who will take her to the hospital? That's just how the neighborhood mentality is, people get involved.
