My period is two weeks late, and I'm facing my fear of seeing a gynecologist

Normally my period works like clockwork, but for the last two months, it's been a disaster in terms of regularity. This time, two weeks have passed, and I literally lost sleep over thinking about it. I don't think I could be pregnant, but this much delay feels strange to me. I'm terrified of going to the gynecologist; I don't know what to do. Is there anyone else who's experienced something like this? How did you manage to stay calm? Is a direct examination necessary?

I experienced something like this last year too; it was delayed by 12 days. I was sure it couldn't be a baby, but when I went to the doctor, it turned out to be a hormonal imbalance. It was due to stress. They check it right away with a simple blood test.

Irregular menstruation can be caused by several different factors: stress, weight fluctuations, or polycystic ovary syndrome, among others. Even if you're saying there's no chance of pregnancy, it's a good idea to consult a gynecologist for a definitive diagnosis. If the delay has been this long, it’s important not to ignore it.

I think go directly to the clinic. Arrange for a female doctor who works privately; maybe you’ll feel more comfortable. Initially, they will do an ultrasound and a blood test. There’s nothing to be afraid of, it only takes about 15 minutes.

I don't think you need to rush to the doctor right away. Menstrual irregularities can change every two months, especially if you've been going through a stressful period. Wait a bit, maybe your body will find its balance.

You girls are right, I guess I have no choice but to go to the doctor. Actually, I've lost weight in the last 1-2 months, and I wondered if it could be due to that, but I'm scared because I still don't know for sure. I also need to find a female doctor, of course.

It's always like this for me too during study time. When I focus too much on my classes, my period becomes irregular. If you've been stressed because of the teachers, that might be it. But two weeks is quite a long time, so I would recommend seeing a doctor.

So actually, weight loss, changes in your sleep pattern, and so on can lead to irregular periods. If you say you are not pregnant, such factors can have a significant impact. But still, a two-week delay is long, so it's better to get it checked.

I think there might be something else going on here besides just losing weight. We brush off stress, but sometimes it can trigger other issues that we don’t even notice. Finding a female doctor to go see can yield more definitive results.
