This morning my left arm was numb, and it's still not gone

When I woke up this morning, my left arm was completely numb, it was literally tingling. At first, I thought it was something positional, but there's still a slight numbness. I can do my daily tasks, but is this normal? How long should I wait, or should I go to the doctor immediately? I panicked a lot because this is happening to me for the first time.

I've been in a situation like that too, I was lying on my back. But honestly, it cleared up in a couple of hours. If yours is still going on, it could be different; I think you should get it checked. Health is important, don't risk it 😐

@kadir_kiymetci what kind of logic is this? Is every sluggishness going to be the same? Wait for 2 days just because I woke up lying the wrong way, then let the problem grow. I think you should get it checked out, better to be safe than sorry.

Was your arm completely numb, or were your fingers or another area also affected? And could you move it at that time? Can you explain a bit more, I didn't quite understand.

@sorgulayan everything was officially numb, right down to my fingers. It was hard to move, but it wasn't completely paralyzed either. Now it's constantly tingling a bit. I can't quite explain it, but it's a strange feeling 🙂

In such situations, both lumbar and cervical MRIs may be necessary since there could be reasons like nerve compression. If you haven't strained yourself and it continues, I recommend seeing a neurologist. It could also be heart-related, so don't wait too long.

You need to go to the doctor right now, sweetheart! You can't just wait for this to pass with time. If it were my daughter, I'd take her right away; don't neglect it. If it hasn't gone away yet, it's definitely not normal.

I don't know, but it's strange that you've been waiting this long. Maybe you're going through a stressful period or you haven't slept much, that can affect your nerves too. If you have any issues in between, I suggest you take a look at them as well 😬

@anne is right, my mom always tells me 'if your body is giving you a signal, you must listen to it.' You should wait and not let things grow worse.

But what if it's really a positional issue and they're just stressing out by going to the doctor for no reason? It's only been a few hours. I think you should wait until tomorrow; if it continues, then go.
