Friends, I’ve been thinking about dyeing my hair for a long time. I finally got the courage and went to the hairdresser last week. After the dyeing process, they said, ‘Let me suggest a style, it will look great on you.’ I trusted them and said, ‘Okay.’ But they cut my bangs so short that when I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Now I’m always wearing a hat. Do you think I can go out with this haircut, or should I go to another hairdresser to fix it? I’m feeling down and I don’t know what to do.
Oh sweetie, the same thing happened to me last summer; I got bangs. You know what the guy said? He said, ‘famous models get their hair cut like this in the movies.’ I thought it was super cool. I walked around with a headband for a week, but when I took it off, everyone made fun of me. I think you should go to another hairdresser; what’s done is done anyway.
Now, I’m going to ask you something. Did you not say anything to the hairstylist? I mean, did you not react when you saw yourself in the mirror? Because cutting it quite short really takes some courage.
I didn’t say anything to @neyleyen because I was completely shocked. Also, the other customers there liked it a lot, saying I looked ‘very energetic’ and stuff. But when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t recognize myself.
@serpil09 I think you’re exaggerating a bit; even if the bangs are bad, they’ll grow out eventually. I think the person asking should try to get used to it first; maybe they’ll end up liking it.
After getting a fringe cut, it requires regular maintenance; otherwise, it looks shapeless. If it’s cut too short, you might try another hairdresser to fix it, but be careful not to make the front even thinner. You can patiently wait for it to grow out while occasionally straightening it to tidy it up.
@soran well, our people have an excessive trust in the hairdresser. If you had said ‘I don’t like it’ there, maybe they could have fixed it. I always make it clear from the start that I want it ‘shorter’ ![]()
the hairdresser didn’t create a model for you, they just made you look bad… they say bangs don’t suit everyone for a reason. you’d better start a chic hat trend ![]()
Let’s agree on two points: we can’t place all the blame on the hairdresser. After all, you approved both the dye and the ‘style’. Even if you had gone to another hairdresser, the same risk would have been there, let me be clear ![]()
