My girlfriend surprised me at the hairdresser

The other day, my girlfriend said she wanted to surprise me at the hairdresser. She cut my hair, but it’s literally a chin-length cut. It’s really short, and I don’t like it at all. My girlfriend loves it though and keeps saying, ‘It really suits you,’ but I’m freaking out. I think I need to do something to fix this situation. What do you think I should do?

I went through exactly this, I got excited because I was told it was going to be chin-length, then I got really mad at myself. I’d say go to another hairdresser right away, but the more you cut, the shorter it gets, so it might be better to just leave it as it is.

How long have you been together? And hasn’t he/she ever asked for your opinion while doing this?

@uykuarasi actually consulted, but I didn’t expect it to be this short either.

@kirmizikazak I don’t think the issue is even going to the hairdresser; we need to understand why her boyfriend did something like that, after all, it’s just hair.

Now, you might consider resources or clips to fix it, but the problem is that these applications can also damage the hair. The best thing to do is to take care of your hair using products and be patient; it will improve over time.

I mean, it’s weird for your partner to get involved like that from the start. I don’t think what you call a surprise is hair. You need to sit down and talk seriously with them.

put on a short wig.

it’s pretty weird that you fed it to me as a surprise. why didn’t you say anything at that moment? you should set boundaries from the start, otherwise it just keeps happening :grimacing:

@kahvebitmeden exactly, at that moment you accepted it directly, also, just because they said it looks good on you, you don’t have to accept what they said. If you think they wouldn’t do it knowingly, then speak up; if they did it intentionally, then that’s a problem.
