My manager keeps making insinuations, what should I do?

I’m working with a female manager who has recently become the type to criticize my work at every opportunity, but she doesn’t say it directly and makes insinuating remarks. Would it be excessive to go to HR, or should I somehow collect evidence for this situation? Has anyone experienced something like this before?

In such cases, I would gather evidence, because if you need to go to HR, you should have something on hand. Note which job they criticized, what they said, and the dates. It’s a bit of a patience game, but in the end, you won’t come across as workplace gossip.

I really lived it. In the end, I couldn’t hold back, I asked my manager directly to his face; ‘If there’s an issue, can we talk about it directly?’ I said. When you’re very clear and calm, the other side generally gets taken aback. I recommend it.

I think it’s an exaggeration to go to HR. These things are part of the job, you know? Sometimes ours does that too, but I don’t take everything personally. Maybe they’re stressed because of the general atmosphere at work, have you thought about that?

If hints are repeated continuously, they may fall under the category of psychological harassment. However, as you mentioned, evidence is necessary to define it. Support it with emails, messages, or witnesses. It will be stronger when you go to HR.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ve started saving a few of your messages and writing down what you said. Actually, you made a comment about something a bit personal, so I wondered if that’s why I feel tense.

The real issue here is whether you’re doing your job correctly. Have you ever considered that the criticisms could be justified? Okay, implying things can be annoying, but maybe you could be the one at fault too :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
