Recently, I’ve dared to embrace hunger crises and drastically reduced my calorie intake. I think I’ve lost some weight, but what if I’m burning muscle in my body? Is there no other way to speed up fat loss? Am I being sensible or am I harming myself? Do you think this is a valid method? If anyone has experience, please share.

7I used to wake up with dizziness in the morning, feeling like I was literally going to roll out of bed. It turns out that when I’m hungry, my muscles stop retaining water, which makes both muscle loss and water loss look like weight loss. I went to a doctor, and he said I needed to add protein to my low-calorie diet, and it really worked.
Logically, the body uses muscles as an energy source instead of fat when calories are very low, because fat burning is a long process. This is why you may experience muscle loss and your metabolism slows down. It would be healthier to switch to a stable exercise routine along with a suitable diet for fat loss.
Honestly, what you did is a bit unreasonable too. You say you’ve reduced calories, but you haven’t mentioned if it’s balanced. If you just lower calories without thought, of course, it can be harmful. Your friend said to “try and see,” but it seems silly to risk your health by trusting their judgment.
What I gave up is this: I’ve dropped to around 600-800 calories a day, and I probably didn’t eat enough protein. I really felt a weakness in my body, but I think I lost weight. The scale shows a decrease, but I don’t know if it’s water loss or fat. Also, I haven’t been exercising at all lately.
I had done the same thing in university. In the mornings, my headache would be throbbing from the inside, and then I realized I had melted away my muscle mass. The dietitian told me not to completely cut out carbohydrates, and I learned to consume calories in a balanced way, even if just a little. Yours reminded me of this.
Everyone has written so much, but sweetly. Just because your friend said ‘give this a try’, can that harm your body? With 600 calories, the body is screaming for energy while literally eating up the muscles! What kind of logic is this?
Girl, what is this? 600 calories is really below the hunger threshold. You could destroy your body, and it would take years to recover. If you were my daughter, I would take you by the hand and take you to the doctor. You’re harming your life; realize it!
