Did this friend seriously say this believing it, or were they just joking? And how old are they to be saying something like this?

There is a possibility of becoming pregnant even without using birth control pills; this is completely false information. Any unprotected intercourse carries risk. If you want accurate information, I recommend that you learn from a gynecologist.
