A partner who doesn't even make tea

Yesterday I was writhing in pain. My boyfriend came to me and said, "Do you want anything?" I replied, "A hot tea would be nice." But instead of making tea, he opened up the PlayStation and played games for hours. I had such a painful day that I can't even describe it. I don't usually want much, but wouldn't a person be a bit more caring in a situation like this? When I mentioned it, he said, "It's not that big of a deal." Is it really so normal to downplay period cramps?

I experienced a similar situation. I was dying from menstrual cramps, and my ex-boyfriend was watching TV. I mean, you'd think someone would at least offer a hot water bottle or something, but he didn't care at all. Then I broke up with him anyway; how can that kind of indifference ever end?

How long have you been together? Is this the first time they've done this?

it's not actually the first time. once, when he had the flu, it was the same; he's always after his own pleasure.

Okay, it might seem unrelated, but flu is one thing and menstruation is another. Not taking that pain seriously is outrageous. I think you need to talk to them directly.

to be honest, if my partner did something like this, I would get turned off right away. if a person doesn't support their significant other on a sensitive day, then why be together?

Most men either have no knowledge about period pains or they take them lightly. You could try to explain to them how serious it is with the information you get from a gynecologist or a healthcare professional.

@iki_dakika does it even matter? Does he have to explain the pain he feels? If the guy prioritizes his hobbies, then the relationship is already over.

Playing takes priority, but opening the game while someone is writhing in pain isn't normal. At the very least, they could have considered doing something to help. Menstrual cramps are not to be taken lightly; such indifference is concerning.
