Am I failing at my diet because of my hunger crises?

I spend most days well while dieting, but some evenings I dive into snacks. Especially when I’m stressed or when no one is home, I lose control. A friend said, 'You’re probably not getting enough protein, that’s why you’re having hunger crises.' Do you think these kinds of cheats completely ruin the diet? I feel like I can't stop myself...

I experienced the same thing as you. My crises usually happened in the late afternoon when I got home from work. To be honest, my issue was that I would just have a very light lunch. How do you manage your meals? Are you always regular with them?

Your friend might actually be right. Protein deficiency reduces feelings of fullness and makes you hungry again more quickly. But when you're stressed, it seems like this issue is more psychological. Have you ever tried doing something to keep yourself occupied in that moment?

Okay, but I think the part about it not being a diet-breaker is a romantic idea. Because if this continues, it will steer you away from your goal. Instead of downplaying these little escapes, try to really determine what you want in a crisis moment 🤭

I want to add something like this; actually, I feel full in the morning and at noon, but after dinner, that strange feeling of hunger suddenly hits me in 2-3 hours. I think I'm doing something wrong with dinner or the snacks between meals are not enough.

It definitely happens in moments of stress, I understand that part very well. For example, if I've had an argument with someone at work or if I'm home alone, I tend to take a little kitchen tour. Have you tried keeping something healthy on hand during those moments? For instance, I eat almonds, and it softens the craving a bit.
