My spouse got upset about me getting permanent lipstick

I've been wanting to get a permanent lipstick for a long time. I've done my research and found a reliable place. But my husband just won’t be convinced. He keeps saying, 'You look better the way you are,' and pressuring me constantly. Do you think it's normal for him to interfere like this with my beauty choices? It's caused some tension between us because this should be my decision. On one hand, I want to delay it to avoid a bigger argument, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Honey, it's nice that your husband loves you as you naturally are, but it's more important that he respects your decisions. In our time, men would interfere like this too, but in the end, it's your own body. Sit down and have a serious talk; beauty is, after all, a personal thing.

Put yourself in their shoes; maybe what you're doing comes across as a sort of 'I don't take your word seriously.' Wouldn't you be upset if they bought something you didn't want while returning home? Empathy is needed here. I think you shouldn't feel the need to justify yourself 😳

Has your spouse been involved in other things before? Or is this a special case? Because if they're constantly interfering, it could be a bigger problem.

@hassasruhum Actually, they were concerned about me cutting my hair even before the marriage, but to be honest, I didn't pay much attention to it back then. Now it's coming up more often.

I think your partner might be getting upset about something else and using this as an excuse. Did something happen recently? Did a big expense come up, or was there some tension between you?

It's important to go to the right place when it comes to permanent lipstick; first, you should choose a place that meets health standards. But there's also a psychological aspect to it. I recommend finding a common ground with your partner. Trust me, these kinds of discussions are more related to the overall dynamics of the relationship than to aesthetics.

@kaliciguzellik I'm sorry, but why should she have to make decisions according to her husband? The woman's choice is hers, as is her body. After all, as an adult, she has the right to do what she wants.

When I got my eyebrows done, my spouse used to say similar things, like that my natural look was more beautiful, and so on. But when I did what I wanted, they eventually got used to it. Sometimes they overreact, so just take it easy and do it calmly without pushing back or arguing.

@bileneaykiri Does being an adult mean you don’t care about someone at all? After all, marriage is a shared thing. No one can navigate this alone by making decisions on their own.
