I ran into my ex in the same place

Last night, I ran into my ex at a café. She was with her new girlfriend, and when I saw her, it felt like my heart jumped out of my chest. I still have feelings for her, but it seems like she has completely moved on from me. I don’t know how to get over this; I’m really struggling.

I experienced the same thing, I saw my ex with his new partner in a café. The first two weeks are tough, but then you forget, and somehow you carry on with your life.

Can I ask you something? Did he notice you there when he saw you, or was there any eye contact? Or was it just a complete coincidence?

@yazipsildim noticed, we locked eyes for a moment but he immediately turned his head away. Honestly, it really bothered me.

I think you’re exaggerating a bit; it looks like he’s moved on with his life. If he’s not that upset about you, why are you still hung up on it?

@pazardandondum do you really think it’s that easy? People can’t just cut off their feelings like that right away, a little understanding is needed.

These types of situations usually stem from a lack of ‘closure.’ Maybe you can revisit how you ended things with him and try to understand what might be missing within yourself. But there might not be a definitive solution for it.

Time is needed, it will pass.

I will ask something else, didn’t you even say hello at that moment? For example, when you made eye contact? I think your reactions there are important, was it completely ignoring, or was it a brief human-like response? No one is saying it’s “hard”, but maybe such a gesture would make you feel different right now.
