I had something like this happen to me back in the day too. My boyfriend had reacted with a smiley to his ex's story, and I found out a month later that they were actively talking. Of course, this may not be exactly the same as your situation, but it definitely plants a seed of doubt in your mind. I think you should express that you're uncomfortable; otherwise, you'll end up overthinking it and feeling more anxious.

@leyla_benim but not everyone will act like your ex, it's just silly to immediately jump to conclusions like "they're definitely talking" just because of an emoji. Maybe she just wanted to remember the girl's birthday and make a nice gesture. Some people can be overly friendly like that.
