My landlord is pressuring me to increase the rent

I learned that there are many things I need to pay attention to when signing the contract. My landlord wants to add some special clauses, but I don’t want that. They are pressuring me by saying, ‘You have to stay in the rental anyway.’ I feel like I’m selling my soul. How can I resolve this situation?

I experienced something similar; my landlord also tried to include strange things in the contract. I didn’t accept it, and when I directly opposed it, they didn’t come down on me any harder. Determination is important.

What are those special items, can someone explain them in a logical way?

@soncaykaldi for example, things like paying the rent in cash or limiting it to a certain date. I think it’s really silly

@aklimkaldi now you need to be clear too. If there are unacceptable things from the start, you wouldn’t sit at the table. Now it seems like the problem was escalating.

If they are making an unjustified demand legally, don’t hesitate. If it’s not in the written agreement, they can’t force you. In fact, if they’re speaking in a threatening manner, you might consider contacting a notary and thinking about starting the process.

The insistence on cash is strange. Is he trying to evade taxes, why doesn’t he want to leave a written record? Just ask him directly about the reason for his request; if he beats around the bush, then it’s already suspicious.
