I'm scared to find out I'm pregnant, but should I take the test?

I’ve been really indecisive lately; my period is late, but I don’t have the courage to take a test. On one hand, if the result is positive, my life will change; on the other hand, I think maybe the delay is due to stress. Do you think it’s more reasonable to calm down and wait first, or to take the test right away?

'I don’t agree with the friend who said, ‘You get more stressed when you take a test.’ I was even more stressed waiting instead of doing it. And when you get a positive result, you calm down after a while anyway.

A missed period can sometimes be related to stress, but if there was an unprotected relationship, it’s better to test early rather than wait. Early interventions are more effective if pregnancy has occurred. Getting an inexpensive test from the pharmacy and trying it out is a good start.

Let me add this, we used protection but we messed up a couple of times and restarted… That’s why I’m not sure. This is confusing me as well.

Honestly, I think it was a bit irresponsible. If proper protection wasn’t used, I don’t understand the panic now. Getting tested is the solution, then you can follow up with a doctor.

Unfortunately, such things are still frowned upon in society. If you’re not married, I think you should consider this aspect as well. Someone doing the testing might see it and raise a warning.
