I'm going to get tested for the first time, I'm so embarrassed!

I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I never had the courage. Now I've really decided to get tested. But going to the doctor and saying this worries me a lot. I'm thinking, 'Will they be judgmental, what if they judge me?' How did first-time visitors relax, what do you recommend about this?

I think you shouldn't hesitate at all; doctors see tons of people taking dozens of tests every day. I thought the same when I first went, but the doctor was so professional that I didn't feel embarrassed at all.

The first time was tough for me too; I couldn't even speak openly. But the doctor said, "These are very natural things, don't hesitate." I felt a bit more relaxed then.

So if you're this embarrassed, why did you decide to leave right away? If you're just going to go without wanting to and leave things halfway, it might be better if you didn't start at all.

Shame is completely normal; most people feel this way at first. But privacy is paramount in tests, and doctors cannot judge you. Generally, they only ask about symptoms and focus on the issue. There is a protocol for this that applies to everyone.

Actually, my embarrassment has decreased a bit after reading the comments here. Let me add, the thing I'm most afraid of is what I'll say when I log in, should I say 'I want a test'? 😅

What kind of logic is this, people hesitate to go to the doctor for their health but have no problem gossiping on the street. You're not afraid of being judged there, but there's an issue at the doctor's?

My sister said to me, 'What will the doctor do, show you a diploma? They're just doing their job,' and she was absolutely right. After all, they are working for your benefit.
