I'm extremely scared of my first gynecological exam

I'm 24 years old but I've never gone for a check-up, I'm literally trembling just thinking about it. My period has never really been regular; sometimes I go two months without it, and sometimes it lasts ten days. But the idea of lying on that examination table is just unbearable for me. I keep wondering if it hurts or if the doctor will say something. To be honest, I'm also scared that if I don't go, something bad will happen. Can those with experience write something?

If you say at the beginning that you're single, they won't use speculums at the table; they'll just check with an ultrasound from above. For the ten-day bleeding, they'll likely request a hormone test, so you need to go early in the morning on an empty stomach.

I swear, when I was 24 years old, I didn't run away from that table just like you, but when I went, I found out I had PCOS. The situation of not having my period for two months can be due to a cyst or something like that; it doesn't hurt at all, so don't postpone it for nothing.
