Guys, I had a secret account on Instagram that was only visible to my close friends. But somehow, some of my photos have gotten shared with everyone. It's like someone is being a troll, and you can't trust anyone. Should I close the account, try to find out who did it, or just let it go and not care? What do you think I should do about this situation?
I think you should not close the account right away. First, do some stalking, review who you shared it with. Usually, it's someone from your close circle doing these things, so identify the unreliable types quickly.
That situation is really annoying. If someone from your friend circle did it, it would really hit you hard. But if it were me, I wouldn't bother and continue with that account until I found a way; I would just open another account 🙂
There's that feeling of the photos spreading, it really shuts a person in. Even when looking at the phone in the morning, a person must feel uneasy. But I think before closing that account, it would do good to find the person who did it and confront them.
Sorry, but why did you think such an account was necessary? You're calling it secret, but how could someone you trust leak your photos? It's clear that your circle isn't entirely trustworthy. I feel like saying you shouldn't have opened such an account in the first place, please don't be mad.
The spread of photos constitutes cyberbullying. If someone has shared them without permission, you have legal rights. If you report it to a cybercrime unit, they can find out who shared it. In this process, closing your account may be a temporary solution, but the permanent solution is to address the source of the problem.
I'm going to make an update. I haven't closed the account, but I've restricted who can see it. One person seems very suspicious, but I'm not sure, of course. Also, should I bring this up with my family or someone else? That's another question mark.
but this isn't trolling or fun, it's a complete violation of boundaries. If those images were spread without your consent, it is a crime, and do not allow the person to demean you under the guise of entertainment. Recognize that they are invading your space 🫠
The best way to prevent such situations is to be careful from the start. Opening a secret account is risky in itself. We used to pay attention to such things in the neighborhood before, so it's not surprising that it's happening on social media now.
The person who did this probably thinks they are teasing someone or trying to get attention. Among men, there are these kinds of "look, I know something" conversations. But that doesn't justify them; you should confront them directly 🙄
