My sister is on an unhealthy diet, I'm worried.

My sister has been trying to lose weight lately by only drinking water. I'm unsure whether I should support her or warn her. It seems like she doesn't realize how dangerous this is. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it's always on my mind. What do you think is the best way to handle this situation?

I know someone who fainted while doing a diet, never mind.

How old is your sibling? Is this the first time something like this has happened?

@kahvebitmeden is 20 years old. Actually, they did something similar last year, but it wasn't that serious 😳

so you knew this beforehand but still didn't intervene? you're still thinking of supporting it, strange.

Unhealthy diets, such as water fasting, can lead to serious health problems in a short period of time. They can disrupt metabolism and affect heart rhythm. I believe it's necessary to talk to a doctor.

@yazipsildim come on, it’s not about blaming the brother in the end. People might not grasp the seriousness of the situation right away.

I had also gone on a very strict diet for a while, but when I had a blood test, my values came back all messed up. They made me stop immediately.

I suggest you go directly to an expert and explain this to them. Both what you want to do and the potential risks involved.

"Look after your brother," can it really be that simple? Everyone thinks differently when it comes to health; it's not something that can be solved just by saying it's family.

Instead of directly discussing diet with your sibling, try starting a general conversation about their health. Maybe ask, "Are you feeling tired, how's your energy?" Helping them become aware of it could be more effective.
