My partner said there's no need to be protected, I'm undecided

We've been together for a long time, and they said they don't want to be protected. They keep saying to me, "Nothing will happen, trust me," but honestly, I have a fear inside me. Both in terms of health and other risks. Do you think this situation is normal, or is there something beyond the limit in their insistence?

I experienced something similar; my partner initially said we should be cautious but then changed her mind. I accepted, but the result was serious; I tested positive for HPV. You wouldn't expect it, so I would advise against trusting the saying 'it will be fine.'

I was also told "trust me" with the same sentences. After a while, I realized that they actually didn't want to take risks; I even thought they were avoiding spending. I think you should ask for their decision for yourself.

So now, just because the guy didn't want you, did you immediately bring doubt upon yourself? Wanting to protect yourself and not wanting to is a personal right, but some of the responsibility for the fear you feel is on you; it seems like you couldn't clearly say no.

Have things like this actually been discussed and understood among you? Or do you just say, 'it'll be fine' and cover it up? How do you communicate?

Let me update you, actually at first I insisted a bit and he said 'okay'. But then the topic came up again and he said 'I’m not thinking about it anymore'. My indecisiveness comes partly from this.

Unprotected sex is risky in terms of sexually transmitted diseases as well as unwanted pregnancies. It is important to openly discuss your feelings and fears with him. You can talk to a doctor to get clear information regarding your health.

So actually, many people experience conversations like this. Men sometimes really prioritize their comfort, but their relaxed approach shouldn't affect you. You don't have to assume there's bad intention behind it, but the decision should be yours.
