Was the protection adequate after the first experience?

I was with my girlfriend for the first time, but afterwards, I constantly feel anxious. We were careful, and we paid attention, but the worry of whether something might go wrong never goes away. Is there anyone who has experienced this kind of situation, or is it normal to be so preoccupied? What should I do?

I felt the same anxiety during my first experience. I was calm because I was protected, but I still felt a tightness inside. At that time, I had gotten the morning-after pill from the pharmacy, maybe it was overkill, but that was the only way I felt safe.

It’s tough to deal with stress like that. My girlfriend was really anxious the first time too; she kept wanting to take tests. I think you should relax; if the condom didn’t break, the risk is almost non-existent anyway.

I see you’re saying you feel protected, but there’s still anxiety. If you’re this afraid, you might not be ready for this. I think those worries should have been resolved before taking the first step

Actually, there are two possibilities here: either you don’t trust the protection method and are constantly stressing out, or you have a lack of information. If there is a delay in your period, you can take a pregnancy test right away; otherwise, constant stress can create more health problems.

Guys, thanks for the comments. I should also add that we used a condom, but I’m still concerned about what happened afterward. My period isn’t due yet, so I can’t take a test. Does this process just involve waiting?

I had a similar experience as well. We used a condom, but I took the morning-after pill the very next day just to ease my mind. Then I counted the days like crazy until my period. Nothing went wrong, but that waiting period was really tough.

You say you’re protected now, but I think you should consider your partner’s approach as well. Maybe there was a mistake somewhere without you realizing it. Did you really pay attention, or did you overlook some things? Reflect on that too :woman_shrugging:
