The hairdresser totally messed up my hair, should I fix it or get a wig?

After patiently growing my hair for two years, I went to the hairdresser for a regular trim, but the woman completely ignored my request for just "a little off the ends." Now it’s officially super short. Every time I look in the mirror, my frustration rises, and my self-confidence has hit rock bottom. I don't want to show it to anyone. If you were in my position, would you go back to the hairdresser to fix it, or would you try a wig or something?

I experienced the same thing; when I had my hair cut after growing it out for two years, I said, 'let's tidy it up a bit,' and they seriously cut it into a bob. I went straight to another salon, had them shape it a bit, but it still took time to fix. Don't feel bad, just go to another hairdresser and explain properly.

I think it makes sense to go to a hairdresser again to get it fixed, but definitely find someone who is skilled at their job. If the hairdresser has an Instagram account, check out their past cuts to make a decision. Also, find out in detail why the first hairdresser cut it that way; if necessary, you can even request a refund.

Actually, it seems like you share a bit of the blame too. If you had clearly said, 'cut from here to there,' this wouldn't have happened. Saying 'a bit from the ends' is very open to interpretation; maybe she thought what you cut was too little. Make sure you clarify exactly what you want before going to another hairdresser. 🥲

Let me add that I usually haven't had any trouble at this hairdresser, but this time it seemed like the woman was a bit overwhelmed. Maybe she tried to rush through everything, I don't know. I thought about talking to her, but my trust has already been shaken, and I don't want to go back to the same place.

I think the hairdresser either didn't understand you or didn't want to understand. Not everyone makes such obvious mistakes. Maybe they had another customer's desired style in mind and applied it to you. It seems like there's a situation. It's best to cover yourself and show it to another place.

Honestly, this situation is completely normal. It happens to everyone, especially when the communication between the hairdresser and the client is poor. Hair grows back anyway, so don't stress about it right now. You can turn this situation into an opportunity to try a new style; maybe short hair will suit you!

When it happened to me, it really affected me psychologically, but once I got it fixed at another salon and chose a more stylish model, I managed to recover. I picked a modern style like the Spanish cut, and everyone loved it. Consider evaluating different models if you'd like.
