My cousin posted a story about my dowry

I don't think the situation is that simple. I mean, if she wants to get opinions, she can just sit down and flip through a catalog. What's the deal with making a story? And sending prices via DM... Was she showing off to her friends, or was she just jealous of you? I couldn't figure it out.

You can't trust everything these days. A dowry before marriage is private, and there can even be issues between families. Your cousin has crossed the line. That would really bother me 😂

Isn't there a sense of shaken trust… You can't just open up and show it again with the same ease. It's like a cold shower has been poured over you. That story thing has really crossed the line.

Why didn't you just say right then that you were bothered? You say you approached it with good intentions, but once you realized I posted a story, you should have reacted clearly. If the family hears about it, that's an even bigger issue, you should have cut it off from the start and moved on 😂

@terskoseci I actually didn’t notice it at that moment; I heard later in a conversation with a friend that he was asking about the prices. That’s why I didn’t get a chance to pursue it.

@gelenekciAbla okay, trousseau and privacy and all that, but it doesn’t seem like it needs to be blown up this much, does it? Maybe she really just wanted to get some opinions. Sometimes people share things on impulse; if the intention isn’t bad, there’s no need to take it the wrong way.

Actually, consent should have been obtained for such a post. You can't control the speed at which things spread on social media — it may seem like it didn't go beyond DMs, but this could cause problems in the future. Rest assured, if you explain this kindly, your cousin will pay more attention.

My dear, there’s no end to this kind of thing. If it were my daughter, I’d sit her down and have a talk with her. What’s with posting stories? Not everyone needs to share every little thing publicly like that. Even with relatives, you have to set boundaries. Don’t allow things like this again.
