My cousin shared my story with the family

I've experienced something similar. My cousin used to screenshot messages and send them to my mom. I stopped it once. I told her clearly that this is my private matter. You need to do the same.

Is this the first time they're doing this, or do they have a habit of leaking things like this?

Your cousin did something they shouldn't have, but on the other hand, everyone else who saw your story could have told their family about it, for example. What would you have said to them? If you're going to talk to your cousin, you might be able to approach it specifically by saying something like, "I thought this would stay between us, I didn't expect you to share it," because it's important to know their intentions as well.
