My boss is constantly behaving sarcastically, how should I react?

I feel very uncomfortable with my boss at work; he keeps making weird jokes and then says, 'just kidding, of course.' Sometimes he asks questions about my personal life, and other times he comments on my appearance. I'm thinking about going to HR, but what if it backfires? What should I do?

I think there's something else going on here. I mean, if he's saying things like "everything suits you," it seems like there's something on his mind. Maybe he's just making these jokes just for you?

My friend's boss had said once, 'No one else can do this job like you do.' It turns out she had been showering the girl with compliments and trying to keep her close. Now, hearing what she said, that came to my mind.

I think you should first take an audio recording. If you can do this, you'll have a formal piece of evidence in case of trouble. Then go to HR. It's hard to talk without documentation; people usually don't believe you 🥲

'You've said, 'Sometimes he asks questions about my personal life.' What exactly are those questions? Are they friendly, or are they a bit too detail-oriented?

I totally understand how you feel, especially when someone says "oh, it’s just a joke". It’s like someone is bothering you while acting both guilty and powerful. It really brings down your mood all day 😂

That's really weird. They act just like a university professor. To avoid confusing you, I would either tell your friends openly or maybe going to HR could be a really good idea.

These are clearly violations of privacy. A person cannot discuss their personal life or appearance without their consent. Such things should be put in writing; you can't just laugh it off as a joke 😂

Sweetheart, don't let anyone touch you like that! It doesn't matter if they're the manager or whatever. First, you should politely say, 'I'm uncomfortable.' If it continues, you should take it to HR.

I've been through the same thing. The manager was always saying confusing things like, 'I trust you a lot' and so on. I stayed quiet for a while, but then I went to HR. Honestly, he left the job a week after our meeting 🫠
