They looked at my Patronum story and said my skirt is too short

Last night I was out with a friend, and I was wearing a short skirt. I posted a story on Instagram, and my boss from work also looked at my story. When I came to work in the morning, he commented indirectly on my outfit, saying, “You’re young, of course, but be careful.” I was bothered by the comment about my outfit, but I couldn’t respond. Do you think I should have said something? Or should I just have let it go?

I don’t think there’s anything to exaggerate here. After all, everything you post on social media can be seen by everyone, and that’s normal. Your boss made a quite polite comment, saying ‘You’re young, be careful.’ I can’t understand how that harmed you. You could be a bit more professional at work; you shouldn’t expose your private life so much.

But why is your boss checking your stories? Are they following you? And now they actually have the nerve to say something about it. Are they into you, is this the first time something like this has happened? :joy:

@ogrenci isn’t keeping track, just checking in occasionally, and we also look to see who viewed our stories, right? But I can’t say this is the first time something like this happened; they’ve made indirect comments a couple of times before.

@ters_kose yeah, but I think the boss might be right because things like this can attract envy. Just the other day, something similar happened to someone in the neighborhood; someone made a comment about their outfit, and then they had issues at work or something. Could it be that the boss said this to protect you from envy?

@mahrem_saf the concept of gaze you mentioned is a personal belief, and this situation seems more related to work ethics. According to the Labor Code, the privacy of personal life should be taken into account; as long as clothing does not have a direct impact on work, commenting on it is not ethical. If you feel uncomfortable, you can report the situation to Human Resources, but you must provide concrete evidence.
