My period is late but I'm scared to take a test, what should I do?

It has been almost 10 days since my last period, I was always a regular person. But just the thought of taking a test scares me a lot, what if the result is positive? Neither my family nor my close ones are ready for something like this yet. On one hand, I feel like I'm disconnecting from life, and on the other hand, I'm avoiding the test. How do you manage to stay calm in a situation like this?

I don't think taking a test is that scary; no matter what the outcome is, you won't have accumulated more stress. I had a time when I was 8-9 days late, and it turned out to be stress-related. Maybe yours is the same, but taking the test can make you feel better.

Now think about it this way. If you're avoiding taking the test, do you feel deep down that there's something going on? I mean, you seem quite panicked; I think you should ask yourself first: why are you so tense?

Honestly, if I were you, I wouldn't be able to wait and would take the test right away. It's already been 10 days, I think putting it off like this just increases the stress. I've had friends who experienced the same; some of them tested negative, but their stress was unnecessary. Just relax! 😬

You say it's regular, but how long has it been going on like this? I mean, does it always fit the 28-day cycle or something? Because sometimes the body gets confused once, and it might not be that big of an issue.

I think you should take the test right away and get the result. If it's positive, your priority should be to see a gynecologist. But if it's negative and you're still experiencing a delay, it may be due to stress or another health issue. You can't know for sure without checking.

My daughter, skipping the test isn't the solution; first and foremost, you need to think about yourself. If there’s a situation, knowing early will be beneficial for you. Don't let fear take over 😅

Thank you for your replies. Actually, as you said, it has always been around 28-29 days. For now, it hasn't happened yet, and to be honest, I'm even more stressed. I think I won't be able to wait and I will go take a test tomorrow. I will write the result.

When you're this stressed, does the person who caused this situation take any responsibility? Your period is delayed, there's a fear of taking the test, but where is that person? If you're the only one carrying this burden, I think there's an inequality here.
