My skin is radiant in the morning but completely dry by the evening, why?

My skin type is combination leaning towards oily, but I've noticed something strange lately. When I wake up in the morning, my skin literally shines like a mirror, but by the end of the day, especially around my cheeks, it becomes dry and flaky. I'm following the same routine, and I haven't changed my products. Is this normal? What could be the reason for this, or do you have any solutions?

I think this could be related to the products you are using. My skin is combination as well, and I had a period when I switched my morning serum with the day cream, which caused some dryness. Especially try increasing the moisturizer on your cheeks, maybe it's not enough.

Honey, I recommend paying attention to your facial cleanser. If you're using something that dries out your skin a lot, that glow in the morning is just temporary. The dryness feels much more pronounced after your evening bath. I'm also explaining this to my daughter, don't get something that's overly foamy.

But on the other hand, you say it's bright in the morning, but the weather isn't the same in every city. For instance, the climate in the place you live is dry, and you start to notice it during the day. Which city do you live in, and have you ever checked the weather?

Your skin barrier might be weakened. The glow in the morning is a result of oil production, but if you can't retain moisture throughout the day, your barrier may be damaged. I recommend looking for a cream that contains hyaluronic acid or ceramides. If it persists, definitely see a dermatologist.

I just realized that in the mornings I was only washing my face with water, but in the evenings, I'm using cleansing gel and stuff. Could it be that the gel is drying my skin too much? Do you think switching cleansers would help? 😬
