The next morning, I took the test I bought from the pharmacy, the result came back negative, I felt relieved but I wrapped it in a tissue and put it in my bag so it wouldn’t be seen. Today evening, my mom found it while searching through my bag. There’s silence at home, I can’t say anything, but the looks are heavy. Do you think I should bring it up, or will she forget about it? I’m so stressed out.

5I think you should talk right away. If you don’t explain openly what happened, my mom used to give such silent reactions too, you might think but it only magnifies misunderstandings. You can say it’s already negative and move on, but explain calmly ![]()
I’m going to ask something, if your mom is looking at you with a frown, could she be implying something? I mean, have you had a situation like this before between you two? Is that why you’re feeling tense?
@gizemli_biri No, that didn’t happen, but my mom usually speaks with her eyes. She implies things but doesn’t say them outright. Still, I can’t know what’s going through her mind ![]()
@elif_34 I don’t think it’s right to say just talk immediately. Everyone’s relationship with their mother is different. Maybe it’s most logical for them to want to forget it over time. Diving in directly can sometimes make things worse.
If what you said about the test being negative is true, it doesn’t seem like a serious situation, but keeping things like that in your bag could cause issues. It would be more sensible to put it in a special area at home. Before contacting your mom, observe her reactions a bit, but if there is definitely some discomfort, you can just brush it off with a small explanation.
