If I'm exaggerating, explain: My heart raced

I have been seeing my flirt for two months, and everything seemed fine. But the other day I noticed that he sent a heart emoji on his ex’s story. I directly asked him about it, and he replied blaming me, saying, “You are exaggerating, we have always just been friends.” Does this seem normal to you? I’m feeling confused, and I don’t want to ruin our relationship because of this, but will I come off as controlling?

It’s not a heart greeting, it’s pretty weird in my opinion.

I went through the same thing. I clearly said, ‘I’m not calling you a friend or anything.’ But still, a person can’t help but doubt, you know?

Did they say it to you, or did you see it in your ex? Clarify the source a bit; because this kind of thing is very prone to misunderstanding.

@yazipsildim, a mutual friend saw what you posted in your story and told me. But then I also checked out your ex’s profile; they are still following each other.

@aklimkaldi why do you say ‘do I look like a controller’? Is it free to say such things?

@makarnaoncesi is right, but I wonder if they were looking for something else? The topic owner seems very soft here :woman_facepalming:

Issues like this are personal preferences, but it’s important to make your partner feel that your past relationships are clearly defined. It can create confusion both emotionally and socially.

@benbisorayim you’ve talked so theoretically that there’s no feeling, no connection… the real guy is sending his heart over there, not giving a damn about boundaries.

I just say we’ll see each other and move on, honestly I can’t let things like this bother me :woman_shrugging:

If you look at your ex’s profile and see that you’re still following each other, I think you should focus more on this following than on the question from the heart. Because being in contact with an ex is already a topic in itself, overshadowing whether your heart is fluttering or not. Just speak directly and openly, let it be clear.
