Am I hungry or just bored?

Lately, I want to eat everything, especially at night. But I’m thinking that maybe I’m not actually hungry; I’m just overeating because I’m feeling down. Is there anyone among you who experiences this and has found a solution? How can I really tell if it’s a hunger crisis or a psychological issue?

I think your issues stem from a moral imbalance. If you particularly have the urge to binge at night, chances are you are trying to comfort yourself with something. I was stressed for a while too, and I would always eat sweets; I related it to your situation.

This situation is really common; hunger and fullness signals can be influenced by emotional states. Physical hunger lasts longer and doesn’t go away even if you drink water, but emotional eating cravings usually come on suddenly. If it’s happening all the time at night, pay attention to that.

You know, normally we all do this—snacking while watching a movie or something. But if it has become a constant thing, then either your eating habits are really off or, as you said, your mood is bad. Whichever one is more significant, start from there.

I already find eating at night problematic. From both health and femininity perspectives, it doesn’t do you any good. I think it would be better if you focused on solving the root of the problem rather than being too comfortable

So how old is what you said lately? I mean, have you been this way for a week or two, or has it been months? Depending on that, maybe we can say something clearer.

Let me add something, as you mentioned, this has been happening for a certain period, the last 2-3 weeks. But I don’t really have an appetite in the mornings, it always increases towards the evening and I crave something :joy:

So even if I’m feeling down, I don’t think about eating; I usually try to sleep. Do you suddenly get hungry, like is it an impulse? Or do you plan your meals for a long time?
