Adam may have looked at you so carefully, but how do you know it was necessarily related to the order? Maybe something else was on his mind, or he was trying to recognize you.

I've experienced the neighborhood pressure thing a lot. Our neighbors spread stuff like that to five different places in three days, and then my mom would subtly hint at it. But I think most people actually don't care that much. Don't blow it out of proportion in your head.

How old are you? If we said we were going to our mother, are we still at an age where we should be wary of her, or are there completely different circumstances?

@pazardandondum I'm 23 years old, and I'm currently staying at my mom's house. Unfortunately, due to work and rent issues, there are no other options.

the real issue here isn't what the neighbor saw, but how you perceive situations like this as "shameful." Getting protection from the pharmacy is a healthy behavior; if you can't stand behind it too much, discuss it with your partner. You might struggle with more critical issues tomorrow.

@iki_dakika all the information is nice, but everyone grows up differently. Neighborhood gossip isn't that easy to shake off. There's no need to act like the trauma has been resolved after just two hours.

Even if the neighbor understands something, generally speaking, nobody cares about such matters for long. But if you’re wondering whether this guy will say something to your mom, it would be good to prepare something like "I had a routine errand at the pharmacy." The more normal you perceive the situation, the less the other side will escalate it.
