Wouldn't it be better if we use a couple?

Last night, while talking about something, my spouse said with an expression that I am absolutely sure was not joking, “If you put on two, it will be sturdier, right?” I was shocked; I didn’t say anything, but I know it’s not true. Now I’m wondering, where did they get this misinformation from? If they really thought something like this would increase safety, what other urban legends might they believe in? How do you think I should explain this to them?

my ex also said something like this once: “it would be both more protective and it would slide”. I thought it was a joke and laughed it off, but it turns out he was serious. It’s very misleading information; I think it’s not double protection, but double risk.

How old is your spouse? Do you really not know this, or is this the first strange comment? :grimacing:

@kahvebitmeden is 34 years old. This is the first time they’ve said something like that, so I was surprised. They are usually logical, so it seems strange that they wouldn’t know.

@biseydiycem people are here to learn; instead of mocking, you can explain properly. What you know might be new for someone else.

Wearing double layers does not increase safety; rather, it increases the risk of friction and tearing, as mentioned. As long as it is used correctly, a single layer provides adequate protection. It is healthier to consult your pharmacist or a specialist about such matters.

You’ve written too many details about the issue, but the logic is simple: this is not true, just explain it briefly. It’s not surprising given the urban legends circulating.
