I said the wrong word to the doctor, and I feel like I've ruined everything

Today, I finally got an appointment and went to see a gynecologist, but I was very nervous. I needed to use a term there and said something wrong. The doctor understood, of course, but I can't describe how my face turned red at that moment. I felt like everyone in the room was judging me. How am I going to get past this tension? Do you think these are normal things that doctors encounter?

I once said 'uterine health' instead of 'uterine size' during an ultrasound, and the woman laughed but was serious. I was so embarrassed that I now check the terms on Google before seeing the doctor.

The same thing happened to me. I went in for a vaginal infection and said, 'there's a problem in the uterus.' The doctor just adjusted it and moved on. Don't overthink it, they're already used to these kinds of mistakes.

I think first of all, don't feel like you're missing out. If the doctor is understanding, they won't worry about it. Being a little more prepared next time will make things easier. Research the terms, and if necessary, take notes on your phone.

What's the big deal? Did you freak out because you couldn't say the right term to the doctor? I think you've dragged it on too long. Everyone has been through something embarrassing at the doctor, it passes.

To be honest, I always feel embarrassed during obstetrics. At my first appointment, I was going to say 'menstrual cycle,' but I ended up saying 'menstrual measure' or something like that. I really turned crimson 😅

It's very normal to use the wrong term with a doctor. They hear hundreds of different words in their daily work. In fact, they're even used to patients misdescribing their symptoms sometimes. Just focus on providing accurate information, don't get caught up on the terms.

Let me update you: The doctor was very cold, maybe that’s why I felt so bad. The nurse and another patient were also in the room. The incident took place in a slightly more open environment.

When I read this, it occurred to me: Did the doctor act a bit aloof? Because they are usually understanding, but sometimes there are those who can be distant. I think we all get tense because of them.

You guys are exaggerating this doctor issue. Why should saying the wrong term be a big deal? Also, you say 'they're all used to it', but do you know all of them?

I think they probably didn't care about what you said. Maybe you're just blowing it out of proportion. In obstetrics, everyone goes through something private, which is why the environment sometimes puts pressure on us. The important thing is health; the rest isn't worth stressing over.
