Is being caught by your neighbor at the pharmacy a global embarrassment?
Today, I experienced one of the strangest events of my life. I needed to take the morning-after pill, and I barely mustered the courage to go to the pharmacy. Just as I was about to get it, a neighbor from the neighborhood approached me and said hello; her eyes landed on the bag in my hand. At that moment, I felt like I wanted to sink into the ground, as if I were doing something incredibly shameful. Did I feel this much embarrassment for no reason? Perhaps the poor woman didn't even understand what it was, but I couldn't help feeling bad.
