I literally didn’t know what to think when I saw my boyfriend do something on social media. I noticed he hearted his ex’s story. Later, he said, ‘It was an accident, I wouldn’t even think of that,’ but I’m left with a terrible doubt inside. Can you accidentally heart something? Especially when it’s an ex? Honestly, I didn’t press the issue too much so we wouldn’t argue, but this keeps swirling in my mind. Am I just overthinking this, or is it really a weird situation?

7I had a similar experience too. It all started when my ex started liking my stories, and then I realized they were still seeing each other. But my situation was a bit more obvious; the guy wasn’t really hiding it. I can’t say anything definitive about your case, but if your gut feeling is unsettling you, I would say don’t ignore it. It could have been sent accidentally, but the ex thing requires a bit of caution.

@ilkbahar but I mean not everyone is like your ex, we shouldn’t jump to the same conclusion immediately. It might have really been a mistake; we might be being overly sensitive.
The chance of being mistaken is low, because stories are usually watched carefully. Especially if we’re talking about a topic related to an ex, this might relate to some suppressed feelings. They might not have truly severed ties or a nostalgic memory could be triggered. It’s important to talk openly with your partner and try to understand exactly what they are feeling. @psikodoktor there’s no need to blow this out of proportion, everyone has definitely checked out their ex at some point. Watching a story isn’t a big deal, after all, we’re not talking to a machine, we’re human.
I can already guess how your stomach twisted. You know that moment when your vision suddenly goes dark and you literally don’t know what to do? Especially if they’ve done something like this before, it makes you think even more. I think you should watch it for a while like you talked about, and if it happens again, you can just tell them to stop.
