We were supposed to have no rent increase this year in the house we’ve lived in for three years. At least, that was the case according to our contract. However, the landlord suddenly said, ‘There are no houses available for less than this amount you are paying; I need to raise the rent.’ We actually still have six months left. I don’t know whether we should vacate the house or accept this pressure. What are their legal rights? How can we stand against this?
