My date told me doctor stories, it's strange

I'm telling my partner that we need to go for tests to continue our healthy relationship, but they keep telling me doctor stories. "You're doing this for no reason, I've always been told this," they say. What should I do when I hear this? It might sound a bit funny, but I'm confused.

my ex used to talk like this too, saying something silly like, 'there's no need for a test, everyone is already a carrier.' I didn't listen and went to get tested. Just in case.

So, do you push it hard when you bring this up? Maybe they are really afraid of going to the doctor a lot?

I'm trying not to pressure @kahvebitmeden, but I've noticed that they don't take it very seriously. They act like we're just chatting.

@soncaykaldi this "everyone is a carrier" is already wrong, someone should give proper information. This work shouldn't be left to chance.

Those who say there is no need for tests generally believe they are guaranteed not to carry diseases, but the truth is: some show no symptoms at all. Keep an eye on the days when free tests are offered at hospitals; whether you go as a couple or alone, you can discuss the results.

'You're doing this for no reason.' Exactly, health checks are unnecessary. It's really strange logic.

Maybe this doctor is telling these stories to ease your worries, but it seems like an escape. If they aren't clearly saying "let's not go," ask directly, "Don't you want a test right now?" It would be better to stop beating around the bush and find out what they really think.
