I feel really bad; last week, I was with my boyfriend for the first time. We used protection, but I donāt feel at ease. On top of that, my period is approaching, and Iāve started seeing all the symptoms as if I were pregnant. Iām going crazy. Have you had experiences like this? What should I do?

6Iāve been through the same, I panicked the first time it happened to me too. My period was a few days late because of stress, and that was enough to make me worry. Itās a very common situation. If you took precautions, thereās a good chance everything is fine.
If youāre constantly creating scenarios related to symptoms in your mind, your body responds accordingly. For instance, my breasts used to be sensitive before my period; at one point, I mistook this for a sign of pregnancy, but the following month, they were hardly sensitive at all. Mood really has a big impact.
Donāt get me wrong, are you sure you know the right method of protection? For instance, if youāre talking about condoms, was the last check done? Sometimes people say, āwe used protectionā but in reality, the situation isnāt completely safe. I think we should clarify this first.
If youāre this worried and really want a definite answer, get a test from the pharmacy the moment your period is missed. Itās the simplest solution. The chance of pregnancy is low with protection, but stress can wear you out.
I thought about it a bit more, and actually I didnāt see any problems after the relationship, but since this is something Iāve never experienced before, I guess I became overly anxious. Letās see what happens when my period comes.
It seemed to me that you feel a tiny bit of hope alongside a deep-seated fear like āI might be pregnantā. You know that feeling that both scares and pulls you at the same time? I sensed something a bit like that in you. Am I wrong?
