It was my first experience, but what if I'm pregnant?

I feel really bad; last week, I was with my boyfriend for the first time. We used protection, but I don't feel at ease. On top of that, my period is approaching, and I've started seeing all the symptoms as if I were pregnant. I'm going crazy. Have you had experiences like this? What should I do?

I've been through the same, I panicked the first time it happened to me too. My period was a few days late because of stress, and that was enough to make me worry. It's a very common situation. If you took precautions, there's a good chance everything is fine.

If you're constantly creating scenarios related to symptoms in your mind, your body responds accordingly. For instance, my breasts used to be sensitive before my period; at one point, I mistook this for a sign of pregnancy, but the following month, they were hardly sensitive at all. Mood really has a big impact.

Don't get me wrong, are you sure you know the right method of protection? For instance, if you're talking about condoms, was the last check done? Sometimes people say, 'we used protection' but in reality, the situation isn't completely safe. I think we should clarify this first.

If you're this worried and really want a definite answer, get a test from the pharmacy the moment your period is missed. It's the simplest solution. The chance of pregnancy is low with protection, but stress can wear you out.

I thought about it a bit more, and actually I didn't see any problems after the relationship, but since this is something I've never experienced before, I guess I became overly anxious. Let's see what happens when my period comes.

It seemed to me that you feel a tiny bit of hope alongside a deep-seated fear like "I might be pregnant". You know that feeling that both scares and pulls you at the same time? I sensed something a bit like that in you. Am I wrong?
