I went to the pharmacy yesterday, you know, I was taking a precaution for the ‘next day.’ Just as I was about to grab what I needed and leave, I bumped into one of the elderly ladies from the neighborhood. She asked me what I was buying. I couldn’t answer, I just made up some ridiculous excuse. But she totally noticed my face turning red. Now I’m scared there might be gossip about this in the neighborhood. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

9why are you making up such a ridiculous thing? what would happen if I clearly said it’s a drug or something?
Last year, I experienced a similar incident. An older guy in the neighborhood saw me at the pharmacy, and he asked so many questions that I started going somewhere else. But there was no gossip. Don’t stress too much.
How old is this aunt? Usually, older people don’t push this hard, could she have sensed something?
@iki_dakika In the 70s or so, I usually don’t hold back my words, but I didn’t expect him to ask something like this. I guess he figured something out from my face…
In such situations, it’s better to give general answers calmly. For example, you can just say you’ve taken vitamins or flu medicine and move on. No one will check, after all.
@benbisorayim not everyone can remain so calm, especially if you’re used to neighborhood pressure, you might freeze in that moment.
Since my adolescence, my biggest fear has been getting caught in the pharmacy. I’ve literally started buying online because of this. I’ve seen neither aunt nor uncle ![]()
I don’t think there’s anything to blow up this much. You’re taking medicine, right? Everyone in the neighborhood has their own troubles too. You’re exaggerating.
to be honest, the neighborhood isn’t a bag that you can twist. be careful from now on. if it goes further and seems to be spreading, you can tell this to his family or spouse, after all, it’s shameful.
