I Saved My Privacy with a Shopping Bag

Today, while shopping at the supermarket, I had ovulation tests in my bag. As I approached the checkout, I saw my neighbor and totally panicked. I thought the tests would be visible when I opened my bag, so I asked the cashier for an extra shopping bag just to hide them. My neighbor was looking at the bag as if she was curious about what was inside. What do you do in such weird situations? Has anyone experienced this?

Actually, these kinds of situations are quite normal. You can get an ovulation test from the pharmacy or online; you don’t necessarily have to put it in your shopping bag. Privacy is important, but these kinds of things are for health, so there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

I’m sorry, but I thought those tests were always positive with water. Even if your neighbor saw it, what would they do? Why are you so tense about this?

@mahrem_saf Actually, I’m not just worried about my one neighbor; the whole neighborhood pays a lot of attention to these things. I was concerned that if my neighbor saw and talked about it among themselves, it would eventually get back to my mom.

@mahrem_saf what kind of information is this? Did you really say that the ovulation test works with water? I suggest you look into this because it’s really wrong. Also, it’s about health, anyone can get cramps.

The issue here is not actually the test, but the social pressure in the community. Why do women feel they have to hesitate so much instead of questioning the control over their bodies? This is something to think about.

Neighborhood gossip is really bad, I understand that feeling. You know how when someone sees you, your whole body tenses up and your throat practically gets knotted? It’s such a tough situation.

I experienced the same thing at the pharmacy. I was getting a period regulator, and the woman behind me said, ‘People are so curious about period-inducing pills; if you left it alone, it would happen naturally.’ I didn’t know I could be so hurt that day.

Your neighbor might not have noticed at all, or if they were curious, they might have forgotten. Men don’t really think much about such details.
