Will my relationship with my boss affect my job?

Recently, I’ve had a really good communication with my boss; we’re almost like friends. But everyone around me has noticed this, and some are worried that it might harm my job. I’ve started to question myself, how will this relationship reflect on my career? Is this level of closeness appropriate?

I was so close with the manager in my time that people thought, “I think something’s going on.” Then one day, I made a small mistake, and without a second thought, he put me in my place. So, a good friendship doesn’t guarantee anything.

No way, I don’t think so. I think people are exaggerating.

You may feel close to it, but how does your manager respond? Does everyone see this situation in the same way?

@biseydiycem isn’t it allowed? People love gossip, and then you find out they’ve buried you underground. Don’t be afraid of your boss, but watch out for the ones next to you.

@yazipsildim actually, my boss is quite warm and friendly towards me, doesn’t approach others like that, which is why it stands out. But like you said, I might have trusted a bit too much.

In a professional environment, everyone has their eyes on you, and even your familiarity with the manager should be on a certain level. Otherwise, they will reflect your performance as a personal relationship, so be careful.

@hatconene I don’t think this is such an exaggerated issue; it’s purely about human relations. Not everyone has to look at it so harshly.
