Honestly, I’m not really someone who’s brand-obsessed, but some of my friends try to throw shade by saying I look “cheap”. What changes just because I wore something from the market instead of Zara? Is there anyone among you who can pull off a nice outfit on a budget? Can you give me some tips? Or are they right, is quality everything?

7Yeah, most of my wardrobe is from the market too. I think it’s really silly to spend money just because something is fashionable; I’d rather spend the same amount on a vacation. By the way, there are things that look like quality fabric—like I buy plain colored basic t-shirts from the market. Just throw a blazer over it, and it’s all good.
I usually shop at outlets because they are both affordable and brand name. Mango has some outlet stores where I can find higher quality items for the price of Zara. Also, combinations are important; as long as everything matches, I think no one will notice even if you wear something from the market.
My daughter, okay, buy it from the market, but everything has its quality. For example, let’s say you bought something that looks like velvet, but it changes color after just two washes; don’t think that this goes unnoticed. In the long run, you end up spending more money again 
When buying cheap products, it’s important to look at the material and stitching quality. If the polyester is high and the stitches are loose, it will cause problems during the first wash. On the other hand, when calculating the actual cost, the lifespan of the product should be considered. Something that will be worn for 3 years instead of 3 months is not actually cheap.
I’ve just realized something: most of my friends are all about labels and think something is cool just because it’s expensive. Is this label really that important, by the way? I mean, I spend a bit more on shoes, but the upper part can be combined at a much lower cost.
Honey, keep shopping at the market but pay attention to a few things. For example, light colors are more dangerous; they wear out quickly, so buy dark or patterned items. Also, choose fabrics with a high cotton content so they last longer. Keep the bag a bit high quality; it balances everything out.
The issue here isn’t your outfit. Your friends might be a little jealous of you because if you’re stylish even with a Sunday look, they’re probably trying to throw shade. If they didn’t know how well you carried yourself, they wouldn’t be talking at all.
