My partner keeps reminding me to stay protected, are they right?

Hello, I've been with my dear for a long time, but they are very insistent about protection every time. It feels like they don't trust me, and honestly, it hurts a little. Do you think this is normal, or are they overreacting about it? I'm not avoiding responsibility, but their constant reminders bother me. What would you do in this situation?

I think your girlfriend is right. It's very important for both safety and health reasons. You can't know what situations might arise if you're unprotected. For example, you could visit a doctor and get information about birth control methods together; maybe that would make you feel more at ease.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you being so sensitive about this? Your responsibilities and decisions are important for them too. Instead of focusing on the 'they don't trust me' part, try looking at the issue from a health perspective. It seems that your partner's concern isn't about trust, but they just come across as generally cautious.

The issue of protection is not only important for preventing pregnancy but also for protecting against sexually transmitted diseases. If your partner frequently brings this up, it might stem from a concern related to a past experience. It’s beneficial to directly ask why they are so insistent on this matter. Additionally, it would be much healthier to consult a gynecologist for information regarding birth control.

Thanks for your comments, friends. Actually, I don't think their intentions are bad; I realize that, but the constant reminders feel a bit too much for me. I'm careful myself after all. I guess I need to talk about this issue in a calmer and more explanatory way. However, some comments have still enlightened me.

I think the problem lies in communication. The issue of protection is very sensitive, and it seems like you haven't convinced each other. Maybe if you consider birth control pills or another method, that would help ease things. There’s really no need to create tension all the time over the condom issue.
