We Started the Race, She Ordered Pizza

My three closest friends and I started a little one-month challenge to see who could lose the most weight. We didn’t put any money on it, but we were all taking it seriously. Last night, someone in the group posted a story showing that we had all ordered pizza together. Turns out one of the people in the challenge had secretly eaten it and, so it wouldn’t be obvious, included our pizza in the story too. Now another friend is saying, “That’s not fair, it ruined the challenge.” Do you think we should keep going, or should everyone just do their own thing?

There’s always someone who pulls a fast one in these kinds of competitions, right? Last summer, I was on a diet with my friends, and one of them was secretly eating ice cream. It’s funny in a way, but also super annoying :joy:

Can I ask, was there a specific rule for the race? Like, did you discuss anything like ‘loopholes are free but will be announced’ from the start?

@cokdaseyapma no, we actually assumed that everyone would be honest. It’s the first time we’ve done something like this anyway :face_with_peeking_eye:

@makarnaoncesi but the ice cream is separate, here it literally looks like they ate it themselves and made it look like they ate you too. I think this is cheating :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Group motivation actually works very well, but honesty is essential. Interestingly, according to research, when one person cheats, others sometimes become even more motivated. Perhaps when the weighing day clarifies ‘who is winning,’ things will fall into place.

I think this job is falling apart. Everyone should just do their own thing.

There’s something weird about the title though. Did they all eat pizza and look at the story, and now there’s a debate?

To clarify the situation, maybe you could talk to that person and find out why they attempted something like this. If they have dodged before, this race is completely going to waste. If it’s their first time, you could warn them and let it continue, but trust has been a bit shaken :upside_down_face:
