I lost 49 kg but they still say 'take care of yourself'

I lost 49 kilos in 6 months with a serious diet and exercise, going from size 44 to size 36. Every time I look in the mirror, I see my effort, but there are people around me saying, ‘It would be better if you lost more weight.’ While my family says, ‘That’s enough, stop now,’ at work they even say, ‘If you were just a bit thinner, your clothes would look nicer.’ No matter what I do, I can’t seem to please anyone. Who do you think is right? Should I listen to myself or should I keep going a bit longer?

I had also dropped to a size 38 for a while, and whenever someone said ‘lose weight’, they would start saying ‘you’re too thin, your face looks sunken’ after they left. Honestly, you can’t please anyone in this. I think if you’re happy when you look in the mirror, you don’t need to continue. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Check your body measurements and fat/muscle ratio with a dietitian. If you’re at a healthy level, just tell your coworkers directly, ‘my doctor definitely said I am in ideal shape,’ and let it go.

I’ll be honest, losing 49 kilos in 6 months is quite a fast pace. You might be pushing yourself a bit more than you realize. Also, listen to those who say ‘enough’, as there are some who are putting their health at risk by overdoing it.

Dealing with body perception is not easy, especially when the pressure from the environment is so high. It’s a good idea to seek support from a psychologist, as this is not just a physiological process. If you can’t cope with your feelings, get help.

I need to add that my health check-ups are regular. My dietitian said, ‘You can stay at this weight.’ But there’s always someone who wants to criticize from a certain point. Sometimes it feels like my eating routine is about to get messed up from anger

Your body is your space. No one has the right to say ‘lose more weight’ or ‘just stop it.’ That’s commenting on your effort and your health. Learning to draw your line might make a difference.

So what’s this thing about “clothes looking fancier” at work? They literally cut the tag based on weight. It’s a bit funny, but I wouldn’t worry too much, you’ve already done a pretty great job :joy:
