Hey guys, I’m really feeling overwhelmed. My parents keep insisting that I should marry my childhood friend’s son. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with the kid, but to be honest, I don’t want to. But every day at home they bring this topic up, it’s like they’re putting psychological pressure on me. I’m getting older, and it’s ridiculous how they’re still trying to make decisions for me. Is there anyone here who’s been through this and gotten through it? Please, give me some advice because they just don’t understand no matter what I say.

2I swear, hearing the same kid’s name at dinner every day is seriously making me lose my appetite for home. I know that the kid isn’t the problem, and it’s just taking away all the excuses. Honestly, your mom’s nostalgia for childhood friends won’t give you peace until it’s over.
I went through the same thing; for a whole year, this topic came up every day at home regarding my dad’s close friend’s son. In the end, I directly talked to the kid and shut it down by saying I have someone in my life, otherwise, the persistence about that childhood friend never ends.
