I gained weight, and I'm feeling the pressure from social media!

I’ve gained a little weight recently and I’m being heavily criticized on social media about it. The comments from my friends are really bothering me, as if everyone is watching me closely. How can I stop feeling bad about myself? How can I build my confidence and overcome this situation without being affected too much?

I also gained weight during the pandemic last year, and I became the talk of everyone. They discouraged me so much that I didn’t post any stories for a while. But then I realized that people’s comments never end, so it’s best not to care.

But who is actually following this on social media? Are your friends really writing it, or are they random people?

@kahvebitmeden my friends are keeping an eye on me, they keep throwing shade on my stories and stuff. Randoms sometimes slide into my DMs saying I’m unhealthy and all.

@soncaykaldi but how easy is it not to take it personally? When someone hears comments every couple of days, you can’t just pretend it doesn’t affect you.

If serious comments are coming in about your weight, maybe it would be a good idea to have your diet checked by a dietitian. But it’s really silly for people to comment via DM; don’t pay any attention to it

Is everyone just acting like stalkers? What a pointless environment this has become. I think you should filter your friend group a bit

I think you should take a break from social media. When you don’t see anyone, you don’t hear the gossip either.

Getting hung up on weight is a problem of social media. You need to feel comfortable with yourself before debating with someone in your own life.

You can’t just bend the people’s words like it’s a bag.
