My spouse has been talking about wanting to get cosmetic surgery lately, and it makes me uneasy to hear it. For example, I saw her checking her ex’s Instagram story in front of my shop; what should I do about this? I’m feeling very suspicious.
Come on, is he still checking out his ex’s story?
I’ve been in a similar situation. Wanting aesthetics is one thing, but it gets complicated when they start comparing their partner to other people’s faces.
Did your spouse say this to you openly for the first time? Had such things been discussed before?
@soncaykaldi no way, they used to say it sometimes but not this clearly. After the incident I caught on Instagram, I’ve been more careful.
@kahvebitmeden everyone is getting aesthetic procedures done now, I don’t think this is a comparison. It’s societal pressure. You seem a bit tense, like you’re exaggerating.
The desire for aesthetics is a personal thing, but it’s important to directly make your partner feel that they are loved “as they are right now.” A situation of comparison can harm the dynamics of the relationship. I suggest you communicate openly.
@pazardandondum If it’s not a comparison, what does looking at your ex’s story even mean? It’s obvious there that your mind is elsewhere. No one is obligated to this nonsense.
